Public Notice-Accepting Bids
The Lauderdale County Department of Education, 321 Armory Ave., P.O. Box 350, Ripley, TN 38063, is accepting bids for grades 6-8 ELA curriculum for the 2019-20 school year consisting of:
6th, 7th, and 8th grade ELA full curriculum that focuses on reoccurring central topics for building background knowledge, vocabulary, and writing skills using literature, informational text and art of highest quality. Curriculum must be taught through multiple authentic text that support learning Tennessee grade-level reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar and vocabulary.
The curriculum must be module-based with multiple supporting/related texts reinforcing practice for students in reading, writing, speaking, listening and language. Teacher editions must be provided in paper and digital copies. All strands of the standards are integrated throughout each module with:
• Instructional Routines
• Text-Dependent Questions
• Explicit Writing Instruction
• Text-based Vocabulary
• Formative Assessments
Each module within the grade-level must provide 4 to 8 authentic text for the 315 students in 6th grade, 325 students in 7th grade and 350 students in 8th grade. Student handouts and assessments must be included for the same quantities of students per grade.
One day of professional development must be included along with on-going technical support for administrators and teachers.
Sealed bids will be opened and reviewed at the Department on May 30 at 2 p.m.
