Accepting Applications
The Lauderdale County 911 Communications District will be accepting applications from individuals interested in part-time work as a 911 Dispatcher, starting Monday, June 3rd, at 7:00 a.m., and must be turned in no later than 3 p.m. on June 28th. Applications can be picked up at 132 Dodge Drive, Ripley, TN, Monday – Friday.
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
• Must pass pretest
• Possess a high school diploma or GED
• Must be 18 years of age
• Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays
• Must pass a criminal history background, drug test
Duties of the job:
Operate a multi-line telephone console system, answer 911 calls and non-emergency calls. Monitor and operate a radio console and computer equipment, Determine and assign the level of priority of the call and enter the data into a computer-aided dispatch system for radio dispatch purposes & navigating mapping.

Former County Mayor Rod Schuh passes away

Former Lauderdale County Mayor Rod Schuh passed away this morning. Schuh recently had a heart attack and stroke.

Prior to serving as County Mayor, Schuh was instrumental in the growth of youth baseball for many years. Schuh was one of the key figures in youth baseball, and an annual high school baseball tournament at Ripley High School honors the memory of his son, Aaron Schuh.

The thoughts and prayers of the staff of The Lauderdale Voice are with Mrs. Carolyn Schuh and the family. More information on the life of Mr. Schuh will be included in next week’s edition of The Voice.

Public Notice-Accepting Requests for Proposals

The Lauderdale County Department of Education, 321 Armory ST, POB 350, Ripley TN 38063, is accepting Requests for Proposals for systems as follows:

• Ripley Elementary School – replace the existing fire panel & any devices that will be required to complete the fire alarm system

• Ripley Middle School – replace the existing intercom system

Questions or arrangements for a site visit may be directed to
Donnie York, Maintenance Director, at 731 413-0820.

RFPs should include the cost for installation of the equipment & required devices for a fully operational system at the completion of the project.

Sealed RFPs will be opened & reviewed at 1:00pm on June 27, 2019.

The Department of Education reserves the right to accept or reject RFPs
& to determine equal or better.
