Former County Mayor Rod Schuh passes away

Former Lauderdale County Mayor Rod Schuh passed away this morning. Schuh recently had a heart attack and stroke.

Prior to serving as County Mayor, Schuh was instrumental in the growth of youth baseball for many years. Schuh was one of the key figures in youth baseball, and an annual high school baseball tournament at Ripley High School honors the memory of his son, Aaron Schuh.

The thoughts and prayers of the staff of The Lauderdale Voice are with Mrs. Carolyn Schuh and the family. More information on the life of Mr. Schuh will be included in next week’s edition of The Voice.

  • Rod was a reason I played the game of baseball and he was a guy that gave without question. As many of us there in Ripley work as what he called us pups at S&R to help out our families. He will always have a spot in my heart. Praying for the family..

  • Candy ammons (Hankins)

    Miss him dearly

  • Such an honor to have known him. Loved his view on getting children and young people involved in sports. Hopefully staying out of trouble, while encouraging them to better themselves with hard work and endurance that a great sports player acquires.

  • Prayers to you Carolyn and Family.

  • May God receive him in his loving arms. After having a very lenght and intense conversation with this man, I walked away with an enormous amount of respect and gratitude for him.
